Capital Cost
Overview
The budget impact for this project includes a one-time cost of $90,000 to replace two Palo Alto Firewalls. This investment in modern firewalls is expected to lead to long-term savings through reduced maintenance costs and improved network security.
Project Description
This project aims to replace our existing 2 Palo Alto Firewall with 2 new, advanced models.
Project Justification
Replacing the outdated Palo Alto Firewall is crucial for defending against evolving cyber threats and ensuring the integrity of our network. We will run them in Hot Swap configuration, which will enable the redundancy necessary for Emergency Services to function during security updates and patching. It will also allow all staff to continue functioning in the event of a single firewall failure. This change will enable critical Emergency Services and business operations to continue around the clock with greater resiliency. This project is setting aside funding over 3 years to finance the replacement in 2031.
