Project Description

Rehabilitation of the Greves Lift Station with an at-grade lift station.  Includes removal of can, pump and interior piping replacement, and new valve chamber to eliminate confined space.  Pumps, base elbows, guide rails, and guide shoes require sooner replacement.

Project Justification

In 2023, the Town contracted with AECOM to perform a condition assessment of all Town-owned sanitary sewer lift stations.  Greves Lift Station is a can station that was constructed in 1984 and rehabilitated in 2006.  This station is generally in poor to fair condition.  Maintenance access is very challenging since the pumps are submersible and installed below the can, with guide rails mounted to the discharge piping, which terminate below the floor of the can.
