Project Description

Rehabilitation of the Heritage Lift Station with an at-grade lift station.  Includes removal of can, pump and interior piping replacement, and new valve chamber to eliminate confined space.

Project Justification

In 2023 the Town contracted with AECOM to perform a condition assessment of all Town owned sanitary sewer lift stations.  The assessment of the Heritage Lift Station resulted in a recommendation to remove the can, replace pumps and interior piping, install new valve chamber to eliminate confined space.  Drawdown testing performed during the site visit indicated that Pumps No. 1 and 2 were at 55% and 71% of their rated capacity, respectively.  There is observed corrosion on the valves and piping in the can, in the metal entrance to the wet well, and the piping and bracing in the wet well.  There are two leaks infiltration from the inlet joints in the wet well on the SE side forming deposits.
