Project Description
N McCarthy Rd (Brookview Dr-Grande Market Dr) is a corridor improvement project including addressing operational and safety issues as identified in previously completed a corridor study in 2018 and a traffic study in 2022. The project is proposed to be constructed in two phases. The first phase of N McCarthy Rd (Brookview Dr - 500' N of Michaels Dr) would include intersection improvements at Integrity Way such as a traffic signal or roundabout. It would also include additional intersection improvements to other side roads and driveway accesses. The second phase of N McCarthy Rd (500' N of Michaels Dr - Grande Market Dr) would include intersection capacity improvements at Michaels Dr, Grande Market Dr, and a future access driveway between Michaels and Grande Market to serve future development. Construction of new sidewalk is included along the entire project.
Project Justification
Pavement is in poor condition and is rutting in the travel lanes. The project corridor is identified as having operational and safety concerns. The roadway also does not include bicycle and pedestrian facilities and is identified in the Bicycle and Pedestrian Strategy to include these facilities.
