Replacement of a 2020 MPH Speed Trailer with a useful life expectancy of 10 years
Project Justification
Radar trailers are used to provide highly visible speed education to motorists traveling along roadways. The intent is that the speed display will bring attention to those who are speeding and reduce overall speeds on the roadway. In addition, the speed trailers collect data which is analyzed to determine the scope of a speeding problem and allocate resources based on time of day and day of week where violations are most prevalent. The department currently has two radar trailers, one purchased in 2020 and one purchased in 2025. This project is for the replacement of the 2020 trailer, which is expected to surpass it's useful life in 2030.
