Project Description

This project aims to replace the aging network switches within town's infrastructure. Network switches are used for connecting all computer equipment together so that they can function with each other. We connect the following to the network switches: computers, printers, copiers, desk phones, mini computers, large displays, wireless access points, cameras, door security, and scanners

Project Justification

The current network switches were installed originally in 2015. We expanded our network with repurposed ones in 2019. The equipment used in 2019 were repurposed from a local school district to extend our network out in growth, and to extend the purchase cycle for replacement. The equipment is past it's life cycle of 7 years and will have no support, no security patches, and no vulnerability patches as of 2025.
